3 Princess Cake Designs – any little girl will love

3 Princess Cake Designs…for the little girl who loves all things princess by Robyn Bent What little girl doesn’t love a princess cake?  A princess themed cake is one of the most requested for little girls and you can see why when you take a look at the options available.. Step inside the magical world of the princess cake….. One of the very first cakes I ever made for a paying customer was a gorgeous princess castle cake.  Today, the castle cake is still a popular design – I have even made them for some ‘not-so-young’ princesses! With edible turrets, tiny handmade flowers, hand painted vines and  chocolate fondant castle doors, your little girl will be thrilled with all of the edible details. This castle cake is finished in fondant icing and dusted with edible glitter for that finishing princess sparkle. Castle cakes can be customized to any colour – pink, purple or another favourite colour.  Larger cakes with a second tier can also be created to accommodate extra servings for a bigger celebration. No princess is complete without a tiara………an edible tiara! This fondant finished, 2 tier cake comes complete with an edible, handmade tiara that has been dusted in silver to add extra sparkle.  The top tier of the cake has a classic quilted effect, while the bottom tier features candy pink fondant stripes. Matching princess cupcakes You can even add some matching cupcakes to your cake.  These crown cupcakes are finished in buttercream icing and topped with  pink and silver fondant crowns: Barbie Doll Princess Cake The last of our princess cake designs is the classic...
Photo Cake – Moshi Monsters

Photo Cake – Moshi Monsters

Photo Cake –  with Moshi Monsters edible photo image by Robyn Bent Today’s featured (edible) photo cake was for a little girl’s birthday..actually it was a party for twins.  You can see the other cake from this post: Monster High Sheet Cake This sheet cake was finished in creamy buttercream icing coloured green.  The buttercream was piped all over the cake to make it look like grass. I next added an edible image of the Moshi Monsters characters and created a border around the edible image from little hand made fondant flowers and leaves.  The design was finished  with a fondant rainbow in the top corner. It turned out to be a really bright and fun cake. I also created some matching photo cupcakes with the Moshi Monsters name and the birthday girl’s favourite character, Buster. The cupcakes were iced in buttercream with the piped ‘grass’ and topped with a circle of fondant displaying the edible image. At Dreamy Cakes, we can create edible photo cakes in any theme or character.  If your child has a favourite t.v character that they love – we can turn it into a special birthday cake.
